Jaguar XK 120 - The Remarkable history of JWK 651, by Chas Parker & Philip Porter

XK 120 Exceptional Cars Series book The Jaguar XK 120 is the epitome of the 1950s classic sports car, stunning to look at and blisteringly fast on the track. The subject of the second ‘Exceptional Cars’ book, JWK 651, is one of six alloy-bodied XK 120s that were prepared for racing by Jaguar in 1950, and has rarely left the racetrack since. Driven by original owner Leslie Johnson in the Le Mans 24 Hours, Mille Miglia (twice) and the Tourist Trophy at Dundrod, it set speed records with Stirling Moss and even took on the RAC Rally of Great Britain in 1952. In recent decades, it has made regular and successful appearances in historic races, from Goodwood to Silverstone, and even graced the Rotunda display of the Royal Automobile Club in London.

Author Chas Parker is a double winner of the Guild of Motoring Writers’ Montagu Trophy, awarded for the best book of the year. He is well known to readers of Porter Press, being the co-author of the D-type and C-type volumes in the ‘Great Cars’ series, and his writing brings this superb example of a Jaguar XK 120 to life.

Jaguar XK DIY Restoration & Maintenance, by Bob Exelby

Jaguar XK DIY Restoration & Maintenance, by Bob Exelby
This is the story of how one man completely restored his XK 120 roadster, transforming it from dereliction into a thoroughly beautiful example of this iconic sports car. He also took the time to investigate and incorporate numerous detail improvements, making the car even more usable and practical for today's roads, some 65 years after it was built.

Cable TV engineer Bob Exelby has a lifetime of home classic car rebuilds behind him and shares all the nuggets of information, advice and tips gleaned through his own blood (literally), sweat and tears over 50 years of 'playing with old cars'. Even the most experienced make mistakes, and he freely shares his so that others can avoid them. This book is invaluable if you want to know what makes an XK 'tick', and if it's the classic car for you - and vital if you own or are restoring one.

John Egan - Saving Jaguar

Saving Jaguar - John Egan
This book tells the story of how John Egan gradually overcame the odds and, piece by piece, rebuilt this great company, winning over the workforce, the overseas dealers and, most important of all, the customers. Working with Margaret Thatcher and her Government, Egan and his team of managers overcame every obstacle, every set-back, every challenge. It is an amazing story that will appeal equally to car enthusiasts, those in business and readers interested in social history.

Jaguar Design - A Story of Style

Jaguar Design - A Story of Style
One ingredient is common to every Jaguar – style.

A major new Jaguar book we are proud to publish. Arguably a greater proportion of people have more passion for Jaguar than for any other car manufacturer. And the reason for this passion is style. Being more than merely functional motor cars, Jaguars stir the blood. People like their Mercedes, BMW, Audi or Lexus, but they love their Jaguar!
