Norway – Spring Meet, Oslo, May 1
All XKs are invited to dominate the Norwegian Jaguar Club’s annual Spring Meet at the Holmen Fjordhotel west of Oslo, writes Fred Ljone. Two years ago Per Lie Andersen amazed everybody with his XK 150 rolling chassis – with running engine. Why doesn’t someone bring his XK project-in-progress to introduce the rest of us to the joy of building one’s own classic? Also ask me how were Jason Len’s XKs Unlimited plus Peter and Justin Jurgens’ British Sports Cars, petrolhead sanctuaries in California that I will visit in April.
Jaguar XK Suffolk Countryside Run, Sunday 7th May
The event starts at Martin’s house in Bradfield St George near Bury St Edmunds with coffee and croissants at 10.30. We will then have a drive lasting around an hour and a half, ending up at the Ravenwood Hall Hotel for lunch at 1pm. Download full details, including driving instructions here.
Please confirm your attendance and numbers in your cars so we can let the hotel know how many to expect.

UK Midlands West – Vintage Transport Rally, July 15
This annual event at the British Ironworks Centre near Oswestry, Shropshire, attracts 500 or so wide-ranging vehicles, advises Peter Wells. The Ironworks Centre is fascinating even without the vehicles, so it should be an interesting day.
Sunday July 16th – Sculptural Cars in an appropriate setting!
Starting at sculptor Simon Gudgeon’s stunning ‘Sculpture by the Lakes’ venue for either a picnic or lunch in their new cafeteria, followed by a self-guided tour of this truly original and memorable exhibition, the group will then undertake a drive around Dorset ending at a final tea-stop destination to be decided! Please contact Paul Abadjian for more information. If you would like to make a ‘Dorset weekend’ of it, Paul can also supply accommodation suggestions. For more details please click here.

USA Midwest – Going to the Sun Rally, September 2017
We often see articles on the rallies in Europe and the UK and thought this might be of interest, even if it is a long way to come, writes Jim Kakuska. The Rally is based in Montana and each year explores the areas from Glacier National Park to Yellowstone, from the Beartooth Pass to the Sawtooth Mountains in Idaho, and this year the Okanogan Valley in British Columbia (“The pic, by Will Brewster, shows us on the informally-named ‘Better than Sex’ highway between Libby and Whitefish, MT,” laughs Sally). All provide great roads for driving, scenic vistas, and a unique camaraderie among the participants. See www.goingtothesunrally.org.
